Performance Coaching

Performance Coaching is concerned with developing a person's skills and knowledge so that their performance in their job improves, leading to the achievement of organisational goals. During Coaching you are enabling individuals to take personal responsibility for their own continuous personal development in a supportive and judgement free environment. Coaching is essentially a developmental tool tailored to the individual by honouring their personal learning preferences, values, beliefs, goals and current circumstances.

The role of the coach is to act as a sounding board to the Individual being Coached, helping them to focus on their developmental needs. Thus, establishing what is preventing them achieving their goals and through continuous assessment, practice, feedback and encouragement enabling them to overcome these barriers. The coach is not an expert; their expertise is in asking the right questions that compel the Individual who is being Coached to think through his/her options. The ultimate aim of coaching is to equip the Individual being Coached with the knowledge, skills and abilities to be prepared to overcome future obstacles.

What are the Potential Benefits of Coaching?

The Individual Being Coached understands themselves, their colleagues and the organisational dynamics better, allowing more effective and productive relations to occur. There is a greater ability to manage change and learning is more likely to become a way of life. Improved performance and fast-track learning, while the individual being coached is working. Setting aside a time to reflect on what has occurred over the previous few weeks and consider what they have learnt and be able to use this in future situations.
