On Line Competency Based Assessment
On Line Competency Based Assessment is a practical and user friendly way of directly assessing behavioural evidence which relates to the specific behaviours most relevant to the job in question.
How Is Our Service Different ?
The majority of on line assessment sites are fully automated which leaves the candidate without any human contact at all and does not present a particularly friendly perspective of the client organisation.
At a time when finding good quality candidates is difficult, organisations should be attempting to engage candidates as closely as possible and develop a relationship with them as early in the selection process as possible. A fully automated assessment system goes directly against this principle, often leaving candidates with a feeling of isolation and alienation.
Because of this, and because selection and assessment can be a nervous time for candidates, our system has human contact at its very heart. Both the client and the candidate have the same named Psychologist to work with them as they go through the assessment process, and to whom they can turn with any problems.
We rely on technology to help us gather the information we need to carry out the assessment, but we never rely on technology to carry on the relationship with the candidate and client for us.
Briefly, the process involves :
- The client identifies which of the competencies or behaviours measured by the on line Competency Assessment process they would like the candidate to provide evidence to support. This is done on line.
- We set up a dedicated client specific assessment page with clients own logo, company details, job and application process information page. We also design a client specific competency based assessment page.
- We or the client directs applicants to these pages with a password supplied by us.
- The candidate completes the on line competency based questionnaire.
We then produce the competency based assessment report incorporating the supporting evidence supplied by the candidate and forward this to the client by email. The report contains a detailed scoring key and criterion behaviours against which the behavioural evidence supplied by the candidate can be assessed and scored by the client. This can then be best used as the basis for a structured interview.
- At the clients request our team of expert Occupational Psychologists can carry out the rating process on their behalf.
Candidate ManagementTo save the client more time, we handle all communications with the candidate regarding the on line assessment process, including instruction on how to access the appropriate on-line service and how to complete the information required.
This is particularly useful because it provides the candidate with a single contact point throughout the application and assessment process, and frees the client to do other things.
